Resident Membership

Resident Membership is an important part of the social life at Mountain Lake.  Resident Members enjoy the use of all facilities, including the Colony House (clubhouse and private 36-room inn), the pool and Pool House, Fitness Center, dining facilities, and recreational facilities including golf, tennis, croquet, and skeet.

Applicants for Resident Membership must be sponsored by a current Mountain Lake Member, seconded by a Member, and supported by three other Members.  Final approval for Membership privileges is contingent on approval by the Admissions Committee.

Mountain Lake is a Member-owned community, and upon acceptance into the program and payment of fees (initiation fee, stock purchase, and dues), Regular Members become shareholders in Mountain Lake Corporation.

National Membership

National Membership is a new category of membership introduced in 2017 with a limited number of memberships available.  National Membership is by invitation.  It is open to those whose main residence is outside a 100-mile radius of Mountain Lake.  While staying in the Park, National Members enjoy the use of all facilities, including the Colony House (clubhouse and private 36-room inn), Pool House, Fitness Center, dining facilities, and recreational facilities, including golf, tennis, croquet, and skeet.

Applicants for National Membership must be sponsored by a current Mountain Lake Member, seconded by a Member, and supported by three other Members. Final approval for Membership privileges is contingent on approval by the Admissions Committee.

Non-Resident Membership

The Non-Resident Membership Program has been capped at 150 Members.  There is currently a waiting list for those interested in Membership.

While staying in the Colony House, Non-Resident Members enjoy the use of all facilities, Pool House, Fitness Center, dining facilities, and recreational facilities, including golf, tennis, croquet, and skeet.  Non-Resident Membership is not available to homeowners at Mountain Lake, or to persons whose principal residence is within 100 miles of Mountain Lake.

To be eligible for Non-Resident Membership, an individual or couple must be sponsored by a current Mountain Lake Member or Non-Resident Member of at least three years.  Applicants must be approved for Non-Resident privileges by the President and the Chair of the Admissions Committee.
